Jun Hyun (Joseph) Ryoo

I am an Assistant Professor of Marketing at W. P. Carey School of Business, Arizona State University.

I am an empirical researcher that employs econometric and machine learning methods to address marketing problems involving unstructured data (e.g., texts, images). I received my Ph.D. in 2021, and B.A. in 2016, both from Ivey Business School, The University of Western Ontario.

My research has appeared in Journal of Marketing, Journal of Consumer Research, and Journal of Retailing, and was finalist for the Donald R. Lehmann Award in 2023, and winner of the Research in Practice Award in 2024.

I currently serve on the editorial review board of Journal of Marketing. Prior to joining Arizona State, I served as a faculty member at City University of Hong Kong from 2021 to 2023.
